2025 Scholarship Application
Information for Applicants

​Purpose and Funding

 Sutton Historical Society, Inc., is dedicated to preserving our historical inheritance for future generations.
In support of this mission, Sutton Historical Society, Inc.  has initiated a scholarship program for high school seniors 
who reside in SUTTON.

This $1,000 scholarship has been made possible with generous contributions from members and fundraising efforts throughout the year.

Eligibility

The 2025 Sutton Historical Society, Inc. scholarship is open to any graduating high school senior
who currently
RESIDES
in Sutton, Massachusetts.
​This includes students at schools other than Sutton High School and homeschooled students.

Receipt of Applications

Applications may be submitted by email or USPS mail delivery.
All applications must be postmarked by March 31, 2025.

​Scholarship Recipient will be chosen on or before May 14, 2025

Selection Criteria

1.      Applicants must reside in Sutton
2.      Preference will be given to applicants who have undertaken community service in Sutton
3.      Preference to will be given to applicants who demonstrate a strong interest in the history of Sutton
Beyond the above criteria, the Selection Committee will use the information provided on the Application Form to decide the recipient.
In the event that the Selection Committee cannot make a decision based on the Application Form and preference criteria alone,
the successful applicant will be chosen at random.

Selection Committee

A Selection Committee of at least 3 (three) members of the Sutton Historical Society, Inc., one of which must be a Board member, 
will review all Application Forms for the scholarship and determine the successful applicant.

Awarding of Scholarship

Scholarship Recipient will be chosen on or before May 14, 2025

Scholarship Recipient will be notified by telephone, email and USPS mail service to inform them of their award.

The Recipient and family will be invited to the
August Potluck
to be held
Friday, August 1, at 6:30 pm
at the
Eight Lots School House, 54 Eight Lots Road, Sutton, MA

Funds Disbursement

Disbursement will be $500 at time of award and $500 after submission of proof of completion of the First Semester.
